Still think we don't live in a Police State
Armed agents seize records of reporter, Washington Times prepares legal action
Maryland state police and federal agents used a search warrant in an unrelated criminal investigation to seize the private reporting files of an award-winning former investigative journalist for The Washington Times who had exposed problems in the Homeland Security Department's Federal Air Marshal Service.Reporter Audrey Hudson said the investigators, who included an agent for Homeland's Coast Guard service, took her private notes and government documents that she had obtained under the Freedom of Information Act during a predawn raid of her family home on Aug. 6.
The documents, some which chronicled her sources and her work at the Times about problems inside the Homeland Security Department, were seized under a warrant to search for unregistered firearms and a “potato gun” suspected of belonging to her husband, Paul Flanagan, a Coast Guard employee. Mr. Flanagan has not been charged with any wrongdoing since the raid.

Obama sits for a portrait during shutdown
Photographer Tony Powell is, according to the Washington Post, a "renaissance man." He's known for his choreography, painting, composition, and graphic design along with his photography. But it's certainly odd that on October 2, two days in to the government shutdown, Powell announced that he would be holding a Thursday photo shoot with President Obama via Facebook.

Resist (Our Senior Citizens show us how it's done)
A new wave of veterans were forced to move barricades at the WWII
Memorial in Washington Wednesday morning to gain access during the
government slimdown, a spokeswoman from Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., told
FoxNews.com.
The WWII veterans, from Ohio, Kansas and Missouri, arrived at the memorial one day after another group relied on the assistance from elected officials to move the barricades to allow access. Parks police did not prevent the first group from entering, nor did they interfere with Wednesday's group.
The veterans vowed to make the trek to D.C. regardless of the situation in Washington. When asked how they were going to visit the World War II Memorial when it’s closed, Ian Drake, a WWII veteran, said the group will "find a way in, one way or another. We might have to climb or something. It's no problem. Well work it out when we get there."
The veterans are traveling as part of Honor Flight , a program that enables World War II veterans to partake in an expense-paid trip to view the memorial.
"A lot of my old comrades were lost in World War II," Ian Drake, a WWII veteran told the station. "Eighteen of 100 in my graduating class were lost in World War II, so it's important for me to show my respect at the memorial."
Yesterday -
With bagpipers playing "Amazing Grace," nearly 200 veterans from Mississippi and Iowa swept past barricades and security guards at the World War II Memorial in Washington in order to keep a commitment to visit the site, which was closed today due to the partial government shutdown. The veterans, in their 80s and 90s, were accompanied by Rep. Steven Palazzo, R-Miss., a former Marine who earlier vowed not to let the National Park Police keep them from a planned visit to the open-air monument.
"Well, I would have been so down-and-out if I got all the way up here and wasn't able to get in," Navy veteran Oscar Leroy Russell, 90, who is blind after he suffered a stroke, told FoxNews.com.
Some veterans on hand wiped away tears when they saw a crowd waving the American flag as they came out of their bus.
"These men and women didn't cower to the Japanese and Germans," Palazzo said. "I don't think they're about to let a few National Park Police stand in their way."
Palazzo, who was joined by several other members of Congress, moved the barricades at the memorial and police did not try to stop the veterans' access.
"I’m not going to enforce the 'no stopping or standing' sign for a group of 90 World War II veterans," a U.S. Park Police officer, who declined to give his name, told The Washington Post. “I’m a veteran myself.”
The veterans are traveling as part of Honor Flight, a program that enables World War II veterans to partake in an expense-paid trip to view the memorial. Tuesday's trip is the second-to-last flight, with the last scheduled for November. But prior to their arrival early Tuesday, there was fear that the government shutdown and federal worker furloughs would mean no access to the monuments on the National Mall.
But with lawmakers leading the charge, the American military heroes, some in wheelchairs, surged into the memorial.
"It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission," Palazzo said. “We lined the veterans up along the blockade, we saw an opening and we took it."
Joe Cleveland, of Union, Miss., told The Mississippi Press that he would "be thinking about the many battles that have been fought and thanking all those who were willing to go fight for our country."
Palazzo noted his grandfather, Manuel McCarty, served in World War II at Guadalcanal and Okinawa. Palazzo was 7 years old when his grandfather died and said he sees his grandfather in these veterans.
"I only have a couple of memories of my grandfather," said Palazzo, who has taken part of Honor Flights before. "But each time I see these men, I envision how he'd be."
"This is the best civil disobedience we've seen in Washington in a while."

DHS ADVISER TO PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS: "YOU INCITED MUSLIMS"
For years, I have warned of Obama's pro-jihadist appointees in his administration. The American people would be outraged if they knew. But the media is part and parcel of the islamization of the American foreign policy. Blaming the Coptic Christians in Egypt for Muslim oppression, persecution and slaughter is akin to blaming the Jews for the Nazis.
The idea that Christians incited Muslims to slaughter in Egypt is manifest in the sharia. Chrstians have incited Muslims by not converting to Islam.

UN DIPLOMAT: JIHADISTS MAY HAVE USED GAS -- NOT ASSAD
The West is being manipulated. Why would Assad use chemical weapons when he is winning? Why incur the wrath of the Western powers when he has the upper hand? Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood are playing the West like a fiddle.
Syrian Rebels Used Sarin Nerve Gas, Not Assad's Regime: U.N. Official By Shaun Waterman, Washington TimesAtlas Shrugs (again)Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.
Folks I think we are being lead in the path of supporting Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood by a man who once stated "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." Obama
Who else recalls the hoops George W. Bush had to jump through to go into Iraq? Who else remembers the endless documentation from every US intel agency and the intel from our allies across the world concerning Saddam Hussein's WMD? Years of intel. And majority validation by Democrats and Republicans (who can forget Hillary?)
And still Bush was monstrously vilified.
Now we have a puffed-up, truly great phony going into Syria without knowing who is using chemical weapons. Or whose chemical weapons? The WMD the Democrats didn't exist? Saddam's? These? These?

Pamela Geller Gets Fan Mail
Lioness of Judah,
I
am back in Afghanistan. There is no mission, no strategy. The Muslims
have us pretty well figured out. They ask, ask and ask. We then give,
give and give. The commander to balks at the cycle? He is replaced by
someone who will go along. The Afghans are great allies--- so long as we
bribe them with goods, services, and money. They turn when we leave.
Just recently, an advisor team was ordered away from an Afghan Uniformed
Police team in the south because, as higher headquarters claims, they
were fully trained and operational independent of ISAF help. Just the
other day, the chief of police for that team was caught on our drone
assets delivering a Humvee-full of weapons and ammunition to a Taliban
member who is targeted for death. Of course we did not drone strike him
because, after all, this is what winning looks like.

Marines Lose One Hot Meal a Day at Camp Leatherneck
Marines at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan will lose a key daily meal starting Saturday, causing some to forgo a hot breakfast and others to work six-plus hours without refueling on cooked food, according to Marines at the base and Marine Corps officials.
The midnight ration service — known there as “midrats" — supplies breakfast to Marines on midnight-to-noon shifts and dinner to Marines who are ending noon-to-midnight work periods. It's described as one of the few times the Marines at Leatherneck can be together in one place.
While no Marine at Camp Leatherneck agreed to speak on the record, many are privately angry about the hit on base morale.
Jesse Ventura is a Delta Bravo (I wonder if he will sue me for that)
If you’ve has seen the movie Predator, Jesse Ventura’s character says, ” you lose it here, you’re in a world of hurt.” He was commenting about the almost suffocating environment of the jungle. Now, it seems that he has lost it, and he’s inflicting unnecessary pain on the wife of a slain American hero. The Daily Mail reported on May 31 that Ventura is suing the widow of Navy Seal Chris Kyle because his feelings got hurt after reading the deceased sniper’s book.
Ventura initially filed the suit against Chris Kyle, the SEAL who had the most confirmed kills in American military history, because Kyle said that he knocked Ventura to the floor during a fight outside of a bar.
Ventura, now 61, has now refiled the suit and against Kyle’s wife Taya after Kyle was killed in February when he was shot by a former soldier who allegedly had PTSD.

Impeach his muslim ass now!!!!
Over the course of the last month, while Americans were distracted with the threat of nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and the devastation wrought by the Boston bombings, President Obama was quietly working behind the scenes to craft laws and regulations that will further erode the Second Amendment.
Congress, and thus We the People, may have unequivocally rejected federal legislation in March which aimed to outlaw most semi-automatic rifles, restrict magazine capacity, and force national registration, but that didn't stop the President from ceding regulatory control over firearms importation to the United Nations just two weeks later. What the UN Arms Trade Treaty, passed without media fanfare by 154 counties, would do is to restrict the global trade of, among other things, small arms and light weapons. Opponents of the treaty argue that loopholes within the new international framework for global gun control may make it illegal for Americans to purchase and import firearms manufactured outside of the United States.

R.I.P. Iron Lady
Former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher, the grocer’s daughter whose overpowering personality, bruising political style and free-market views transformed Britain and transfixed America through the 1980s, died Monday after a stroke, her spokesman said in a statement. She was 87.
The first woman to lead a major Western power, Mrs. Thatcher served 111 / 2 uninterrupted years in office before stepping down Nov. 28, 1990, making her the longest-serving British prime minister of the 20th century.
Infuriated by Britain’s image as the “sick old man of Europe,” she set out to dismantle Britain’s cradle-to-grave welfare state, selling off scores of massive state-owned industries, crushing the power of organized labor and cutting government spending with the purpose of liberating the nation from what she called a “culture of dependency.”
On the world stage, she collaborated closely with her friend Ronald Reagan to modernize Europe’s anti-Soviet nuclear shield by deploying cruise and Pershing II missiles in Britain, a costly and controversial enterprise that some analysts would later say contributed to the breakup of the Soviet Union. Mrs. Thatcher then joined Reagan’s successor, George H.W. Bush, in repelling Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait, counseling Bush not to go “wobbly” on her.
She fought her own war as well, dispatching an armada to retake by force a colonial outpost off South America — the Falkland Islands — after it was invaded by Argentina in 1982. At the same time, she negotiated the end of Britain’s lease over another colonial relic, Hong Kong.

Mark Kelly is a DOUCHEBAG!
Mark Kelly's campaign against "assault weapons" such as the AR-15 rifle has sparked a local backlash. On March 13, a Tucson, Arizona radio host published a photograph of former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords holding an AR-15 rifle at a gun range. Giffords has since confirmed that the photograph is authentic.
What is wrong with this picture? Absolutely nothing, and prior to the aggressive progressive opportunistic fear mongering in the wake of Sandy Hook, this picture would have raised no eyebrows and garnered little public attention.
However, in response to the exploitative political scheming of Mark Kelly, persons connected to Congresswoman Giffords released this photo in response to what they perceived to be her husband’s hypocrisy.

On Fox News' Hannity on Friday, Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President Peter Schweizer and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Oh Look, The Human Slop Bucket Speaks
Madonna is the latest artist to criticize the Boy Scouts' ban on gays, and she did so in a colorful way, appearing in a Boy Scout uniform at the GLAAD Media Awards this weekend.
At the awards, sponsored by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Saturday in New York City, Madonna, there to present an award to talk-show host and CNN-anchor Anderson Cooper, joked on stage that she wanted to join the Boy Scouts but was rejected.
"I think that's f-ed up," she said. "I can build a fire. I know how to pitch a tent. I have a very good sense of direction. I can rescue kittens from trees."
Madonna subsequently declared, "I think they should change their stupid rules."
The group last month decided to delay its vote on whether to lift the ban on gays until May to allow for more time to review the policy.
Carly Rae Jepsen and Train recently pulled out of the Boy Scout Jamboree because of the organization's stance on gays.
Madonna didn't just address the Boy Scouts at GLAAD's awards show. She also spoke out against bullying, discrimination and acts of violence.
"I can't take this sh- anymore," she said. "That is why I want to start a revolution. It's 2013, people. We live in America, land of the free, home of the brave? That's a question, not a statement."
Madonna presented Cooper with the Vito Russo Award, given to "openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality."
Dear media peoples,
That is not a Boy Scout uniform, it is a cub scout shirt with all the patches in the wrong places.
And who really cares what a washed up has-been has to say about anything anyway?

Karzai Accuses U.S. of Taliban Collusion
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel was greeted on his first visit to Afghanistan since taking office by suicide bombs, threats and Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s accusation that the U.S. is colluding with the Taliban.
As Hagel prepared to leave a U.S. military compound in Kabul on March 9, a Taliban suicide bomber blew himself up outside the Ministry of Defense, and another suicide bomb detonated in Khost province. Yesterday, Karzai said that those attacks, which together killed 19 people, aided U.S. goals. A joint Hagel-Karzai press conference at the presidential palace was canceled for what Pentagon officials said were security reasons.

Douche Bag Hugo Chavez Dead (Good)
Analyst estimates Chavez family fortune at around $2 Billion
Criminal Justice International Associates (CJIA), a risk assessment and global analysis firm in Miami, estimated in a recent report that the Chávez FrÃas family in Venezuela has “amassed a fortune” similar to that of the Castro brothers in Cuba.According to Jerry Brewer, president of CJIA, “the personal fortune of the Castro brothers has been estimated at a combined value of around $2 billion.”“The Chávez FrÃas family in Venezuela has amassed a fortune of a similar scale since the arrival of Chávez to the presidency in 1999,” said Brewer in an analysis published in their website.Brewer said that Cuba is receiving about $5 billion per year from the Venezuelan treasury and in oil shipments and other resources.“We believe that organized bolivarian criminal groups within the Chávez administration have subtracted around $100 billion out of the nearly $1 trillion in oil income made by PDVSA since 1999.”

Why having a BIG GIANT FAG for president is a bad idea!
Two Russian nuclear-armed bombers circled the western Pacific island of Guam this week in the latest sign of Moscow’s growing strategic assertiveness toward the United States.
The Russian Tu-95 Bear-H strategic bombers were equipped with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles and were followed by U.S. jets as they circumnavigated Guam on Feb. 12 local time—hours before President Barack Obama’s state of the union address.
Air Force Capt. Kim Bender, a spokeswoman for the Pacific Air Force in Hawaii, confirmed the incident to the Washington Free Beacon and said Air Force F-15 jets based on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, “scrambled and responded to the aircraft.”
“The Tu-95s were intercepted and left the area in a northbound direction. No further actions occurred,” she said. Bender said no other details would be released “for operational security reasons.”
The bomber incident was considered highly unusual. Russian strategic bombers are not known to have conducted such operations in the past into the south Pacific from bomber bases in the Russian Far East, which is thousands of miles away and over water.
John Bolton, former U.N. ambassador and former State Department international security undersecretary, said the Russian bomber flights appear to be part of an increasingly threatening strategic posture in response to Obama administration anti-nuclear policies.
“Every day brings new evidence that Obama’s ideological obsession with dismantling our nuclear deterrent is dangerous,” Bolton said. “Our national security is in danger of slipping off the national agenda even as the threats grow.”
Senator Ted Cruz: Doing what he was sent to Washington to do (What a concept)
The traditional stance for a freshman senator is to hold back a bit. Being reticent and deferential are not qualities that come naturally to those who manage to win Senate seats, but most new senators choose, as much as it clashes with their instincts, to tamp down.
Not Cruz.
Since being sworn in fewer than two months ago, the 42-year-old tea party darling has:
●been one of three senators to vote against confirming fellow Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) as secretary of state.
●expressed "deep concerns" with a bipartisan immigration-reform blueprint crafted by, among others, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla).
●introduced his first bill, to "repeal every last word of Obamacare."
●tangled with Rahm Emanuel over the Chicago mayor's "bullying campaign" to have the city's pension funds divest their investments in gun manufacturers.
Most notably, Cruz - a Princeton debating champion, Harvard Law School graduate, law clerk to the late Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Texas solicitor general - trained his formidable rhetorical skills on two targets: gun-control proposals and President Obama's nominee for defense secretary, former senator Chuck Hagel, a Republican.
Cruz has taken the wear-their-scorn-as-a-badge-of-honor approach with his liberal critics. As he told Glenn Beck last month, "I view all of that as a sign that maybe we're doing something right."

Numerous Firearms Manufacturers Refuse to Sell to Govt
While the President and the rabid left continue to pursue a ban on semi-automatic firearms, manufacturers are fighting back by refusing to sell to government agencies that support the President’s plan.
Illinois Gov. Rahm Emannuel tried to pressure Bank of America to stop doing business with firearms companies. Viewed as perfectly acceptable behavior by a large portion of America, firearms manufacturers copied the tactic and returned the favor.
Larue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Templar Custom, Extreme Firepower and now RAM Arms have vocalized that they will not sell their products to government agencies that support the President’s position on gun rights.
The President believes that ordinary citizens do not need shotguns with more than 5 rounds, pistols with more than 10 or rifles with more than 10. The math is a bit fuzzy as most murders are committed with handguns containing relatively few rounds. The number of rounds is actually irrelevant. In fact, the gun is irrelevant – apparently, when someone decides to kill someone else, they prefer baseball bats or choking the life out of them over guns.
The number of gun crimes committed by lawful gun owners is infinitesimal - yeah, like, near non-existent compared to the total. I know, who wants facts when emotion can lead us to a final decision?
Oddly, criminals get guns that the lawmakers in Chicago, New York and LA have banned. How is that possible? They made the law, certainly that means everyone will follow it?
Sarcasm aside, many firearms manufacturers have decided to answer the government’s unconstitutional overreach by refusing to sell government agencies arms or ammunition. As the President says, the people should come first – and so they shall.
The firearms and ammunition manufacturers have been clear that they will sell to law enforcement officers who need equipment and support citizen’s ability to defend themselves during the several minutes (10+ on average) that it would take police to get there. Think about what an assailant could do to you or your family in 10 minutes…
If government departments or law enforcement officers believe that the President has the best answers to violent crime, they may find themselves without anyone to supply them.

“While RAM Arms supports our Deputies and Police Officers with every ounce of our hearts, we will not be selling patrol shotguns, ARs or other equipment or ammo to government agencies that support the President’s version of violent crime prevention. As Chicago has proven – his plan doesn’t work and only disarms the innocents.
Individual LEOs that support a citizen’s right to defend themselves with arms are always welcome.
If you haven’t actually thought through your gun rights position, we cannot ethically sell you much of anything.”
“WE DON’T WANT YOUR BUSINESS,” Gary Shade, president of an Apple Valley custom firearms shop, e-mailed Rybak and the Minneapolis City Council on Tuesday.
Shade doesn’t currently do business with Minneapolis cops but wants to make it clear he won’t in the future since “your mayor believes he can bully gun manufacturers with threats of no business.”
“When your police run out of ammunition, or need service parts for their firearms look elsewhere,” Shade wrote.
Shade’s letter said he is joining with Olympic Arms and LaRue Tactical in restricting sales to police departments or cities that support Obama’s “unconstitutional” gun control plan or are “affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Police.”
In an interview, Shade said he sells to other police departments, but only sent the letter to Minneapolis because of Rybak’s strong comments. H/T Eddie, Enemy of the State
